Bama BBQ Beans



1 can (16oz) pork and beans

1 can (16 oz. size) butter beans, drained

1 can (16 oz. size) pinto beans

1 can (4 oz. size) chopped mild green chilies

8 slices bacon, cooked crisp, crumbled

1 lb. lean ground beef

1 pkg. smoked sausage, diced

1 chopped onion

1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped

1 cup ketchup

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 cups water

1 Tb yellow mustard

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp chipotle powder (optional)

Salt & black pepper to taste


In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat; drain.  Add remaining ingredients, except bacon. Mix well and bring to a boil. Immediately reduce heat to low and simmer 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Top with the crumbled bacon.
